The wonderful thing about chidren's literature is that it has the power to excite children about reading and encourage children to use their imaginations!
The Children's Division at Future Word is dedicated to providing children with delightful and wholesome literature.
Now that you've finished tumbling the words around in your head
and you've organized them into the perfect children's story
it's time to bring them to life!
Submission Guidelines:
Your submissions packet should include:
1. The first three chapters of your book, prepared in standard manuscript format via USPS to the address below OR in WORD document online. If you want to submit the first 50 pages then please stay under 10,000 words. The submitted text must be made up of consecutive pages. Please use standard manuscript format of at least 1 inch all the way around; indented paragraphs; double-spaced text; and Times New Roman in 10 or 12 font. Make sure the header of the manuscript includes either your name or the title of the book and the entire document must be numbered. Please use one side of the page only and do not justify the text.
2. A synopsis of the entire book. The synopsis should include all important plot elements, as well as the end of the story. The synopsis should run between three and ten pages in standard manuscript format. Please let us know what makes your book stand out. We want to know the message in your story..
3. A dated cover letter that includes your name and contact information and the title of the submitted work. Briefly tell us what genre or subgenre the submission falls into and mention any qualifications you have that pertain to the work. Please list any previous publications in paying markets. We accept simultaneous submissions.
4. Send online submissions to the attention of Valerie Bouthyette. Email: ourfutureword@aol.com.
5. Snail mail to: FutureWord Publishing 1753 Springfield Cv. Southaven, Ms. 38671. If you want to be sure that your manuscript was delivered to us, please ask for a return receipt or a signature confirmation when you post it. This is a temporary address only. Please check for an update on this address.
6. A self-addressed, stamped, business-size envelope for our reply letter. It's not possible for us to return submissions due to a postal service policy that requires packages weighing more than a pound be mailed at a post office. If you do not include an SASE, we will have to discard the manuscript or ask that the manuscript be resent to us in WORD via email.
